Senator Tracy Pennycuick has announced the allocation of over $1.7 million in grants for redevelopment projects in Berks and Montgomery Counties. The PA Department of Community and Economic Development and the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources provided the funds totaling $1,783,000.

The Morgan Log House Historical Society in Towamencin Township will receive $400,000 for preservation efforts on its 18th-century structure, recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973. H. Charles Wilson III, Chairman of the Towamencin Township Board of Supervisors and a board member of the Morgan Log House Historical Society, expressed gratitude towards Pennycuick for facilitating the funding, which coincides with upcoming anniversaries.

North Wales Borough is set to receive $350,000 for the completion of its stream bank restoration project at 9th Street Park, which is part of the borough's stormwater management strategy. Christine Hart, the North Wales Borough Manager, thanked Senator Pennycuick for her support, emphasizing the project's role in environmental enhancement and sustainability.

Douglass Township in Berks County will benefit from $500,000 directed towards addressing invasive insect species issues, such as ash beetle and spotted lantern fly populations. Township Manager Kaleena Breitbarth highlighted the importance of this funding in promoting environmental sustainability and public safety.

Collegeville Borough is receiving two grants totaling $533,000. The first grant of $325,000 is for trail connections along Main Street, linking to the Perkiomen Trail near Clamer Avenue. A second grant of $208,000 will fund stream bank restoration along Donny Brook Creek. The Borough's leadership expressed appreciation to Senator Pennycuick for her support in securing these investments.
