Senator Tracy Pennycuick, representing Pennsylvania's 24th district, recently organized a Scam Jam event in collaboration with several organizations. The event aimed to educate the public on holiday scams and was held at the Skippack Township Building.

The Scam Jam took place on December 13 and saw participation from over 50 individuals. Attendees were informed about various types of scams prevalent during the holiday season, including phishing emails, fraudulent online shopping platforms, and charity scams. Experts at the event explained how scammers operate and offered advice on how to recognize and avoid falling victim to these frauds.

Pennycuick emphasized the importance of community efforts in combating fraud. "By working together with our community partners, we can raise awareness and empower individuals to protect themselves from fraud," she stated. She highlighted the increased risk during holidays when scam activities typically surge.

This initiative is part of a broader campaign to increase awareness about fraud and identity theft. The goal is to equip people with knowledge and resources that help them make informed choices, thereby safeguarding against financial losses.
