Sen. Tracy Pennycuick and Rep. Donna Scheuren have announced that three projects in Montgomery County have been awarded grants through Act 13. The projects include the Yoder Sidewalk Connections Project in Lower Salford Township, the Hickory Park Renovation Project in New Hanover Township, and the Hollenbach Park Trail Project in Upper Pottsgrove Township.

The Yoder Sidewalk Connections Project has received $200,000 to fund the construction of new sidewalks in Lower Salford Township. These sidewalks will help close crucial gaps in the trail network, ensuring safer and more accessible pathways for the community.

In New Hanover Township, the Hickory Park Renovation Project has been granted $200,000. This funding will be used to enhance the park's entrance, improve the parking lot, and make various improvements to park amenities. These upgrades will make the park more enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.

The Hollenbach Park Trail Project in Upper Pottsgrove Township has also been rewarded $200,000. This grant will support the development of a new trail on Hollenbach Park land, benefiting multiple areas and the students of Pottsgrove Middle School. The trail will provide a recreational space for residents to enjoy outdoor activities and connect with nature.

Sen. Pennycuick expressed her satisfaction with the grants, stating, "These awards will help ensure that communities within Montgomery County continue to serve as hubs for recreational development projects. Our residents will be happy to learn that the Commonwealth is committed to supporting expansions for our beautiful greenways, trails, and parks."

Rep. Scheuren also expressed her enthusiasm for the projects, saying, "Believing all three of these projects were a big win for all three townships, I advocated quite heavily for their approval. These grants provide funding to help make open space more enjoyable by improving our area parks and by adding additional connections to sidewalks and trails."

The grants awarded to these projects highlight the commitment of local representatives, Sen. Tracy Pennycuick and Rep. Donna Scheuren, to the enhancement of recreational spaces and infrastructure in Montgomery County. With these grants, the community can look forward to the development of safer sidewalks, improved park amenities, and the creation of new trails.
