Senator Tracy Pennycuick and Representative Milou Mackenzie have announced an $847,850 state grant awarded to Pennsburg Borough for essential renovations and upgrades to municipal buildings. The funding will support asbestos removal, structural repairs, and the construction of a new salt shed. Renovations will also extend to the Public Works garage, which will receive new utility connections and increased vehicle space.
These enhancements aim to improve Pennsburg's ability to maintain its facilities and infrastructure, ensuring effective operation during emergencies and adverse weather conditions. Senator Pennycuick expressed satisfaction with the state assistance, stating, "I’m extremely pleased to be able to deliver this state assistance to Pennsburg so that local taxpayers don’t have to bear the full burden of these much needed, but expensive, renovations."
Representative Mackenzie echoed this sentiment: "I am so happy to see the community of Pennsburg receiving this generous amount of state funding today." She emphasized that the renovations would address critical safety and functionality needs in the Borough Hall and public works garage.
The funding comes from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program managed by the Office of the Budget for various regional improvement projects.
