Rep. Donna Scheuren announced that the Souderton Area School District has been awarded a grant from the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program. This program provides funding to public school districts and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects.

The district will receive $1 million for HVAC upgrades at Souderton Area Senior High School, Oak Ridge Elementary School, and Vernfield Elementary School in Montgomery County. The project involves replacing 19 outdated HVAC units with new equipment such as chillers, rooftop units, and split-system air conditioners. These improvements aim to enhance efficiency, air quality, and reduce the district's carbon footprint.

“I am thrilled to see Souderton Area School District receive this funding,” said Scheuren. “This grant will allow the necessary upgrades to take place and make these three buildings safer and more efficient for everyone who attends and works at these schools.”
