Senator Tracy Pennycuick, chair of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee, is organizing another Scam Jam event. This initiative aims to educate the community on recognizing and preventing fraud. The event will be held on March 20, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Boyertown Area Multi-Service.

The event is a collaboration between several entities including the Pennsylvania Department of Banking & Securities, Eastern Berks Regional Police, Berks County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and AARP Pennsylvania.

Senator Pennycuick emphasizes the increasing use of technology by scammers. She states, “Scammers are getting smarter, but so can you.” She notes that understanding scam operations and protection methods has become more crucial due to technology's role in fraud schemes. Her goal with these events is to equip Pennsylvanians with necessary tools for fraud prevention.

Experts from state and local agencies will discuss recent scams and offer practical advice on safeguarding personal and financial information.
