Rep. Donna Scheuren has announced that the Souderton Area School District (SASD) will receive a grant from the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program. The grant, amounting to $1 million, is intended for HVAC projects at Souderton Area Senior High School, Oak Ridge Elementary School, and Vernfield Elementary School in Montgomery County.

The project involves replacing deteriorated HVAC equipment across three buildings within the district. A total of 19 units containing harmful refrigerants will be replaced with new systems, including chillers, rooftop units, and split-system air conditioners with remote condensing units. These upgrades aim to enhance efficiency, improve air quality and delivery, and reduce the district's carbon footprint.

"I am thrilled to see Souderton Area School District receive this funding," said Scheuren. "This grant will allow the necessary upgrades to take place and make these three buildings safer and more efficient for everyone who attends and works at these schools."
