In an effort to combat identity theft, Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) is organizing a Free Drive Through Shredding Event on June 8, 2024. The event will take place from 9 A.M to 12 P.M. at the Boyertown Area Multi-Service located at 200 Spring St., Boyertown, PA 19512.

Pennycuick emphasized the importance of proper disposal of documents containing personal information in the fight against identity theft. "Identity theft is a growing concern, and properly disposing of documents containing personal information is a crucial step in protecting yourself," she said. "This free event provides a safe and secure way for residents to shred old documents and minimize the risk of fraud."

Participants are encouraged to bring bank statements, credit card statements, medical records, tax documents, pay stubs, and pre-approved credit card offers for shredding. However, phonebooks, newspapers, and bound books cannot be accepted.

As the Senate Communications and Technology Chair, Senator Pennycuick has expressed her commitment to ensuring community safety and security by helping residents protect their personal information.

The event will also feature volunteers from Preston’s Pantry who will be collecting food donations. For more details about the event, please contact Beth Ann Mazza at (215) 541-2388.
