Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) and Rep. Matthew Bradford (D-70) came together to present a ceremonial check for Perkiomen Township's recent grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development's Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program. The Township was awarded $250,000 to improve Highland-Huber Park.

"Our Commonwealth's natural beauty is something every Pennsylvanian should cherish. I am always happy to see projects that preserve green open space for future generations," said Pennycuick. "We will continue to support recreational development efforts like this going forward."

The funds will be used to construct ADA accessible trails, restrooms, and a community garden at Highland-Huber Park. Perkiomen Township manager, Cecile Daniel, and members of the Board of Supervisors, Adam Doyle (Chairperson) and Pamela Margolis (Vice-Chairman), were present to receive the check.

"A community park is an important landmark for a community, providing recreational opportunities for our neighbors and a greenspace to preserve our natural resources. This funding will go toward the development of a much-needed park in a community that currently lacks sufficient recreational space," said Bradford. "I'm grateful that the state is investing in Perkiomen Township's park project."

The grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development's Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program will not only enhance the quality of life for residents in Perkiomen Township but also contribute to the preservation of green open spaces.

Pennycuick and Bradford's joint effort highlights the bipartisan support for recreational development and the recognition of the importance of preserving natural resources. This investment in Perkiomen Township's park project will create a valuable asset for the community and future generations to enjoy.
