Burn Ban In Effect
BURN BAN IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Despite the rain today, the long range forecast appears to be favorable for fire spread. As such, the Schwenksville Borough Fire Marshal has instituted a burn ban which will remain in effect until rescinded.
Late winter/early spring is always a challenging time for local fire fighters with respect to brush fires. This is due to the dry leaves left over from the fall combined with under brush that has dried out over the winter. This available fuel, coupled with typical low humidity levels and breezy conditions allows for brush fires to quickly spread.
During the burn ban, all outdoor burning, with the exception of manufactured grills, is prohibited.
