Senator Tracy Pennycuick and Representative Milou Mackenzie have awarded Upper Hanover Township a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's ARLE program. The grant amounts to $485,600 and is designated for enhancing the local traffic infrastructure.

The funding will be allocated towards the modernization of traffic signals and will include minor road widening at the intersection of Route 663 and Schoolhouse Road/Montgomery Avenue.

Sen. Pennycuick emphasized the importance of transportation infrastructure upgrades for community safety. "Upgrading our transportation infrastructure is crucial to ensuring the safety of every driver, pedestrian, and business in our community," she said. "This grant will bring vital improvements to Upper Hanover, and I’m excited to see the positive impact these upgrades will have."

Rep. Mackenzie remarked on the benefits of local tax dollars being used for community improvements. "It is always gratifying to see Pennsylvania tax dollars returning to our legislative districts for improvements to our roadways," said Mackenzie. "The money awarded to Upper Hanover Township for this project will help traffic move more harmoniously through our area and increase safety for our residents."

Township Manager Anne W. Klepfer expressed gratitude for the grant. “Traffic safety and modernization are top priorities for Upper Hanover Township,” she stated. “The ARLE program, along with the strong support and advocacy from Senator Tracy Pennycuick and Representative Milou Mackenzie in securing these grants, is essential to achieving our goals of making our roadways safer for both the public and local businesses. We are incredibly grateful for the grant and the efforts to bring these valuable public resources back to our community.”
