Rep. Donna Scheuren of Montgomery County has announced that two projects in the 147th District have been awarded grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF). The fund supports the development, rehabilitation, and enhancement of transportation assets within communities.

The first project involves Lower Salford Township receiving $449,250 to add a turn lane and sidewalk along Oak Drive. The second project awards Upper Pottsgrove Township $301,500 to improve safety at the intersection of Cherrytree Lane, Gilbertsville Road, and Sprogels Run Trail.

"This is excellent news for both Lower Salford and Upper Pottsgrove townships, and I was happy to throw my support behind both projects," said Scheuren. She explained that in Lower Salford, traffic congestion occurs when vehicles turn onto Main Street from Oak Drive. In Upper Pottsgrove, enhancements will connect residents to recreational areas while incorporating high-tech modifications like flashing beacons and thermal detection at crosswalks.

Scheuren noted that she collaborated with Sen. Tracy Pennycuick to secure full funding for Upper Pottsgrove’s project. "This funding will complete important plans to make our roads safer, more efficient and improve access to recreation," she stated.
