Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-Montgomery/Berks) has announced that two projects in Montgomery County have been awarded grants through Act 13. The grants will provide funding for the Pollock Park Redevelopment Project in Pottstown Borough and the Highland-Huber Park Project in Perkiomen Township.
The Pollock Park Redevelopment Project has been awarded $75,000 to assist with on-site remediation efforts. This funding will allow the park to reopen after several years of being shut down. Sen. Pennycuick stated, "Recreational spaces are a crucial component in building strong communities. This funding will ensure that residents of the 24th Senate District will continue to have shared spaces where they can enjoy Pennsylvania’s natural beauty."
The Highland-Huber Park Project will receive $250,000 to construct improvements to the park. These improvements include ADA accessible trails, a new playground, and a community garden. This funding will enhance the park and provide additional recreational opportunities for the community.
The grants provided through Act 13 will have a positive impact on Montgomery County, providing residents with revitalized and accessible recreational spaces.
