Rep. Donna Scheuren has announced that the Western Montgomery Career and Technical Center and the North MontCo Tech Career Center have each been awarded $85,000 grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. These grants are intended for updating or purchasing equipment used in student training within approved career and technical education programs.
The funding is designed to align with employer needs, ensuring students gain hands-on experience as part of their curriculum. "This is amazing news for CTC students across my district," stated Scheuren. She emphasized the importance of investing in programs that prepare students for trade jobs, which are crucial to Pennsylvania's economy.
This initiative is part of a broader $4.5 million competitive grant funding distributed among 58 career and technical centers and school districts.
