Senator Tracy Pennycuick and Representative Joe Ciresi have announced the allocation of $2.5 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants for projects in Montgomery County. This funding aims to boost the local economy by creating jobs and enhancing transportation infrastructure.

Pennycuick expressed her enthusiasm for the approved projects, stating, "This funding will have a significant impact on our regional economy by creating high-paying jobs and expanding our local transportation network to allow for a more efficient movement of people and goods." She also acknowledged her collaboration with Ciresi in securing these grants.

Ciresi highlighted the benefits of the funding for Pottstown and Limerick, saying, "This $2.5 million in capital funding for Pottstown and Limerick will improve the quality of life in our district by restoring a disused historic building in Pottstown, improving transportation infrastructure in Limerick, and building up our area’s pharmaceutical and sustainable energy sectors."

The grants will support several key projects:

- Montco Tech Center, LLC received $500,000 to renovate the old Harp Taxi building for VideoRay's expansion.

- Pottstown Sustainable Energy Park, LLC was awarded $500,000 for improvements to its facility that processes cellulosic waste into sustainable energy.

- Pharma Resource Group, Inc. obtained $1 million to construct warehousing and manufacturing spaces with necessary utilities.

- Limerick Township received $500,000 to aid design and construction improvements to the Sanatoga Area Transportation Network.

Peggy Lee-Clark from Pottstown Area Economic Development praised these investments: "These financial investments from the Commonwealth and Governor Shapiro ensure that the expansion and development of innovative companies will assist in furthering Pottstown as an important economic hub for Western Montgomery County."
