Senator Tracy Pennycuick and Representative Milou Mackenzie have announced the allocation of grant funding for several projects in Montgomery County. The funds come from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide program, which is supported by gaming revenues as outlined in the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act.
The grants will fund various initiatives aimed at public interest, community improvements, and economic development. Specific allocations include $56,915 for the Upper Montgomery Joint Authority to enhance a pump station in Upper Hanover Township, $37,500 for a sewer management study in Perkiomen Heights by Upper Hanover Township, $77,284 for Marlborough Township to restore a historic barn used for public works equipment storage at Finland Road Park, and $67,089 to rehabilitate 55 manholes across Upper Hanover Township.
Senator Pennycuick expressed satisfaction with the funding outcome: “I’m happy to see these projects received funding through the LSA program,” she stated. “Public infrastructure improvements such as these play a vital role in ensuring local governments have the resources they need to operate effectively and serve their residents.”
