Rep. Donna Scheuren and Sen. Tracy Pennycuick have announced that three projects in the 147th district have been awarded grants through Act 13 of 2012. The grants aim to support the development of recreational spaces and infrastructure in Montgomery County.

The Yoder Sidewalk Connections Project in Lower Salford Township has been awarded $200,000. This funding will go towards the construction of new sidewalks, which will help close crucial gaps in Lower Salford's trail network. Rep. Scheuren expressed her satisfaction with the project's approval, stating, "Believing all three of these projects were big wins for all three townships, I advocated quite heavily for their approval."

The Hickory Park Renovation Project in New Hanover Township has also been awarded $200,000. This grant will be used to enhance the park's entrance, parking lot, and various amenities. The aim is to improve the overall experience for park visitors.

Lastly, the Hollenbach Park Trail Project in Upper Pottsgrove Township has received $200,000. The funding will facilitate the development of a new trail on Hollenbach Park land. This trail will benefit residents from multiple areas as well as the students of Pottsgrove Middle School.

Sen. Pennycuick highlighted the significance of these grants for the local communities, stating, "Our residents will be happy to learn that the Commonwealth is committed to supporting expansions for our beautiful greenways, trails, and parks." These projects will contribute to the recreational development of the county, ensuring that it remains a hub for outdoor activities.

The grants awarded through Act 13 of 2012 demonstrate the government's commitment to improving the region's open spaces and recreational facilities. The aim is to make these areas more enjoyable and accessible for residents. With the funding secured, the projects can now move forward and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
