We had a fun Q&A Session with Brianna, one of our School Directors
Q: What do you like best about your position with Cadence Education?
A: I would have to say the relationships I have been able to build with parents, children, and staff members. I love being able to connect with different families and be a part of their child’s education.
Q: What made you want to be a Preschool Director?
A: Knowing that I could be a role model and a leader for not only other teachers, but for the families that we care for.
Q: What should someone consider who is hoping to move into a Director role with Cadence?
A: Building relationships with staff, parents, and children is very important. Being in a leadership role, you need to be able to communicate and connect with people effectively.
Q: What made you want a career in childcare?
A: My mother provided care for children within our home. Seeing the lasting relationships she made with the children and families was a big motivation for me to join the childcare field.
Q: How did you react when you received the promotion into the Director position?
A: I felt accomplished and proud of myself. It was a great feeling to know that my hard work and dedication was noticed.
Q: Tell me about a time when you had to complete a task you had never done before…how did you go about it?
A: I cannot recall a task in detail, but the great thing about working at Cadence is the amount of support you have! I know I can always call another Cadence Director, or my Regional Director to help guide me through an unfamiliar task!
Q: What do you hope to accomplish in the next 6 months as the School Director?
A: I try to set goals for myself and my school each month. These goals are not always big, but always meaningful. I try to set goals for parent communication, parent involvement, and even for our school’s curriculum.
Q: Tell us about your funniest childcare experience.
A: It is hard to think of just one. I will have to say the funniest things happened when I taught Pre-K. I always told my Director at the time that I should start writing a book of what is said in the classroom!
Q: What is your favorite time of day at work and why?
A: I would have to say drop off. I love getting a chance to walk each child back to their classrooms. The meaningful conversations you can have with each child is a great way to start off your day. It is also a great time to greet staff. Saying hello and greeting staff members everyday can set everyone’s day off in
the right direction.
