Tracy Pennycuick, a state Senator and U.S. Army combat veteran, has shared her reflections on the past year and outlined her priorities for the upcoming legislative session. As she represents the 24th District in Harrisburg, Pennycuick emphasized her commitment to families, small businesses, veterans, and education.

In collaboration with Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward and others, Pennycuick helped mandate insurance coverage for breast MRIs, ultrasounds, and BRCA-related genetic testing for high-risk individuals. “This law ensures that no one is denied the preventative care they need,” she stated.

Addressing technological challenges, Pennycuick highlighted legislation aimed at combating AI-generated sexual images of minors and non-consenting adults. The new law, Act 125 of 2024, criminalizes the creation of such images. “My legislation… closes this critical loophole by making the creation of these images illegal,” she explained.

Pennycuick also tackled identity theft through Act 33 of 2024, which offers victims of data breaches free credit reports and monitoring. Additionally, Act 82 of 2024 eases school transitions for children from National Guard and Reserve families.

Efforts were made to protect older Pennsylvanians from property tax increases by enhancing funding for the State’s Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program. Moreover, steps were taken to eliminate barriers hindering entrepreneurship.

Looking ahead to the 2025-2026 legislative session, Pennycuick aims to focus on job expansion, educational resources for students and parents, property tax reform, and electoral trust-building measures like Voter ID laws.
