Senator Tracy Pennycuick is set to hold the third Women Veterans Ceremony at the Pennsylvania Capitol on June 10, 2025. The event seeks to honor women veterans from all periods and branches of military service.

This initiative follows legislation introduced by Pennycuick in 2022, which declared June 12 as Women Veterans Day in Pennsylvania. This date marks the anniversary of the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, which allowed women permanent service in the U.S. Armed Forces. Pennycuick described the ceremony as a “special opportunity to recognize the courage and dedication of Pennsylvania’s women veterans,” stressing the importance of acknowledging women’s contributions to the military.

“As a Pennsylvania State Senator and a United States Army Combat Veteran, I am committed to ensuring that my colleagues—and all of Pennsylvania—recognize the vital role women play in our military,” said Pennycuick. “I am honored to continue this tradition and to provide a platform where the incredible women who have served our country can be recognized.”

Due to increased participation, the ceremony’s display will be digital this year to accommodate more viewers. This display will be available online on June 9, 2025, at www.senatorpennycuick.com.

Women veterans who participated last year can update their submissions, while new participants must complete a form by May 9, 2025.
