Senator Tracy Pennycuick is organizing a free educational event in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities to help residents identify and avoid financial scams. The program, called Scam Jam, aims to provide community members with information on how to recognize and prevent financial fraud.
“Protecting our community from financial fraud is a top priority,” said Sen. Pennycuick. “Scammers are constantly finding new ways to target individuals, especially seniors, and events like this give residents the tools and knowledge they need to stay safe. I encourage everyone to join us for this free program and learn how to spot and avoid scams before they happen.”
The event is scheduled for Friday, March 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Home at Topton in Topton, Pennsylvania. Experts from several organizations will speak at the event, including the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, Berks County District Attorney’s Office, Berks County Area Agency on Aging, Pennsylvania State Police Department, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and AARP Pennsylvania.
