Senator Tracy Pennycuick announced that more than $2.4 million in grants have been secured for transportation projects in Montgomery County. The funding comes from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.

“I’m happy to support investments back into the 24th Senate District for essential transit projects such as these,” said Pennycuick. “This funding will play a critical role in restoring and upgrading our most heavily traveled roads, bridges, and trails. These improvements will enhance safety, reduce congestion, and promote safety in our communities.”

The grants are distributed among several municipalities for specific projects: Red Hill Borough receives $210,036 for the Northwest Neighborhood Multimodal Improvements Project; Schwenksville Borough gets $77,283 for pedestrian safety upgrades at Church and Main Street; Douglass Township is awarded $232,925 for the County Line Road Bridge Replacement Project; Green Lane Borough secures $191,167 for the PA 29 Perkiomen Trailhead Improvement Project; Limerick Township is granted $550,000 for Phase 2 of the Lightcap Road Roadway Improvement Project; Skippack Township receives $1 million for the Perkiomen Creek Road Bridge Replacement Project; and Upper Hanover Township is allocated $175,335 for improvements at Schoolhouse Road and SR 663.

These funds aim to improve infrastructure across Montgomery County by supporting roadwork, bridge replacements, trail enhancements, and pedestrian safety measures.
